(More customer reviews)I had previously purchased a K&N filter for my 05 Impala (3.8 V6)and saw over a 3 mpg gain on the open road and almost 2 mpg more locally.
Prior to the filter, open road was 29.5 with the filter 32.8 local went from 24.0 to 25.8
So I decided to get one for my wife's 04 Malibu (3.5 V6).This car was already getting 26 locally and depending on the terrain 36-39 on the highway.I was disappointed the open road mileage was unchanged.3 hour trip, open road with the filter was 36.8.Still too early to tell on local since the car is only driven about 3 mile a day by her to and from work. The filter has been in almost 2 weeks. Based on our open road trip when I installed the filter I am not expecting to see a big change locally either. I did notice the pickup is a little better but this car always had good pickup when you needed to get it moving.
I'll keep it in since it should help overall but if your getting it just for the mileage increase you may want to check out the results of others with the same type car before you purchase it
